A classic fit, this short jacket is constructed with Sashiko cotton that offers its denim trucker silhouette a soft, rounded look and feel. The indigo-dyed cotton that adorns this piece has been crafted in Sashiko-Ori, a weaving technique dating from the Meiji Period that is commonly used in the making of Judogi. In addition to its beautifully intricate texture, the weave presents qualities that translate from martial arts practice into the everyday life: it is a relatively lightweight material compared to the resistance it offers that remains flexible, comfortable and fast-drying despite its thickness. The jacket has been hand-dyed in indigo several times, giving it a characteristic deep hue that will fade with time and use, to develop patina and character. Details include denim rivet fastenings along the placket, a casually pointed collar, and an oversized chest pocket, suitable for daily storage.
