Stool 60 from Artek. Designed in 1933 by Alvar Aalto, Stool 60 is one of this century's most dominant and classic designs. The legs are mounted directly to the underside of the round seat without the need for complicated connecting elements. Aalto developed the two-dimensional lamination technique where strips of wood are glued together. Thanks to its geometry, the stool can be stacked to save space in a spiralling tower sculpture. The Artek Classics have proven timeless and maintained their appeal over decades. The contemporary products share the Classics' clarity, functionality and poetic simplicity.
