"The “Red Wing" name is embossed on the inside quarter of the boot, the moc toe is finished with a distinctive rectangular bar-tack stitch, and the backstay chain-stitch is once again done on Red Wing's ancient Puritan Stitch machine. We use the same mahogany and sage thread of the original, the top band is double-stitched, laces are leather instead of Taslan and the style, size and width are heat-embossed on the gusset, just like we used to do." - Red Wing

About the brand
From his store in Red Wing, Minnesota, Charles Beckman founded the Red Wing shoe company based on a strong American philosophy of 'hard work pays off'. It did; soon Beckman was pumping out 110 pairs a day. Word of the quality and comfort built into every pair spread quickly and the company prospered.
