Ganryu
Born in 1976, Fumito Ganryu is the youngest designer at Comme des Garçons.
Having formerly worked as a pattern maker for Junya Watanabe, Fumito Ganryu launched GANRYU in 2008 as part of Comme des Garçons.
His menswear line, GANRYU offers a fresh approach to wearable outfits and plays with the concept of "forward-thinking casual wear".
Under the guidance of Comme des Garçons' Rei Kawakubo, Ganryu is noted for his tendency towards progressive, avant-garde design that transcends gender, with unconventional proportions, unique construction and obscure silhouettes. Influence of music alongside youth and street culture can be observed in the collections, too.
